How to make a QR code in 2 minutes (no signup, no subscription)

There are dozens of "free" QR code generators on the internet, and most of them want you to sign up, then funnel you into a $9–50/month subscription before you can even change the color. You don't need any of that. Here's the actual two-minute path to a usable, customized QR code — without an account.

What you need

That's it. No download, no signup, no email confirmation, no "verify your phone number to continue."

The steps

  1. Open onedollarqrcodes.com in any browser. You'll see a builder on the homepage.
  2. Paste your destination URL into the input. The preview updates instantly.
  3. Pick your colors. Default is black on white because that scans best. If you change colors, keep strong contrast — light gray on white is going to fail at distance.
  4. Choose a shape. Square is classic. Rounded and "classy" variants look more designed without hurting scannability.
  5. Drop in your logo. Click Upload, pick the file. Keep it square. The generator automatically reserves the center area so the QR still scans.
  6. Optionally add a frame. Banner, tag, brackets — visual decoration that signals "scan me" to people who aren't sure if it's interactive.
  7. Pay $1. Stripe Checkout handles Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and card. No account needed at our end.
  8. Get your QR by email. PNG and SVG, ready to print or drop into a design file.

Test before you print

This is the step everyone skips and then regrets. Print one test copy at your actual final size before you order 500 stickers. Scan it from a normal arm's-length distance with two different phones (iOS and Android if you have both). If it works on both, you're safe to commit.

The most common failure mode is a color combination that looks fine on screen but lacks contrast under real lighting. Yellow-on-white prints to garbage. Dark gray on dark gray reads as "broken" to most scanners.

Why $1 vs. free?

The "free" generators on Page 1 of Google fall into two camps:

OneDollarQRcodes charges $1 once, gives you a guaranteed 3-year working window, and lets you change the destination URL during that window. The QR image stays the same — just reply to your delivery email and we'll repoint it. That's the whole pitch.

Common questions

Will the QR work after 3 years? The short link can be renewed for another $1 at any time. We send a reminder email if you opted in.

Can I edit the colors later? No. The image is the image. If you need a different look, generate a new one (with a new destination too if you want).

What if my logo doesn't fit? Keep it square and small (~25% of the QR width). Try a high-contrast version — your logo on a solid white background usually works best.

Static or dynamic? Technically our codes are redirect-based, which means the QR image is static but the destination is editable. You get the print-once benefit of static QR codes plus the destination-flexibility of dynamic codes — without paying $300/year for the privilege.
